FREE Intro Session
20 mins - $0
In our 20 minute introductory session, the parents(s) and teen client get to meet Camryn and understand how Teen Development Coaching works while setting the tone for future sessions. Parents may join the first 5 minutes and allow the teen the remainder of the time. *All intro sessions are video conferenced through Zoom.
40 mins - $99
In our 40 minute tele-coaching sessions, teens co-actively design their time with Camryn, through science backed exercises that promote positive changes in the brain through mechanisms like neuroplasticity, enhancing self-regulation, cognitive flexibility, and emotional well-being. Unlike therapy, coaching focuses on one’s future and not their past, addressing specific life goals, improving personal performance, and promoting well-being. *Sessions are purchased in packages of three ahead of time.
In Person Sessions
1 hour - $199
In our one hour “real life” sessions, teens can co-design the coaching location, helping to enhance the experience both physically and cognitively. Benefits include building personal connection and trust, accountability, enhanced focus, client to coach trust, clear communication, and a more structured experience by engaging in hands-on activities, such as worksheets, exercises, or physical movement that complement the coaching process. *Sessions are purchased in packages of three ahead of time.
Group Coaching
Clients can also opt in for Group Coaching, hosted once a week in person. Teens work in a variety of social/emotional activities geared to enhance community, peer support and collaborative learning. Once a month, the group will commit to community service at local organizations.
What is Coaching?
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a practice where a trained professional, known as a life coach, helps individuals identify and achieve personal or professional goals. Providing guidance, support, and encouragement to help clients overcome obstacles, make decisions, improve self-awareness, and improve various aspects of their lives.
Teen coaching provides guidance and support in areas like self-confidence, stress management, academic success, relationships, career exploration, decision-making, and personal development.
Teen life coaches often help teens with:
Goal setting: Helping them identify and achieve personal or academic goals.
Time management: Teaching effective ways to manage schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and personal life.
Building confidence: Supporting teens in developing self-esteem and a positive self-image.
Navigating challenges: Offering advice and coping strategies for dealing with peer pressure, family dynamics, or school-related stress.
Improving communication skills: Helping teens express themselves clearly and assertively in relationships with family, friends, and others.
Career and future planning: Assisting teens in exploring potential career interests and educational paths.
Unlike therapy, which typically focuses on healing emotional issues, a teen life coach focuses on personal growth, goal achievement, and developing skills for success. The coach works to empower teens, building their confidence and skills to handle life's challenges and transition into adulthood.
7 Benefits of Coaching
Better self-confidence. A study by the IFC reported that 80% of people who hired a life coach reported improved self-confidence.
A growth mindset. A benefit to coaching is a shift in perspective. At BetterUp, we think of this as a growth mindset. With coaching, clients can expand and nurture a growth mindset.
Improved self-awareness. Research found that only 10-15% of people studied were self-aware, despite people believing that they are self-aware. But with coaching, you have a partner to offer feedback and reflect on your progress and your levels of self-awareness. Coaching can help you build your self-awareness muscle and ultimately, gain more confidence in knowing who you are.
Improved relationships and communication skills. According to the Institute of Coaching, your relationships will benefit from coaching. One study found that of those who participated in coaching, over 70% benefitted from improved work performance, relationships, and effective communication skills.
Better clarity and purpose. Our mission at BetterUp is to help people everywhere live with more purpose, clarity, and passion. Our data has shown that folks who take part in coaching report a higher sense of purpose and meaning.
Improved overall well-being. Coaching can also help improve your overall well-being. Our data also shows that a majority of people who start coaching in a “stuck” period get better. In fact, 77% will significantly improve their well-being state in three to four months with personalized support.
Lower stress levels (and better resiliency). The same data cited above shows that with BetterUp, a benefit of coaching is lowered stress levels and better resiliency.
Who
is Cam L Coaching?
After a decade plus of working in marketing and sales throughout the music industry, Camryn Kruger found herself at a crossroads in life. Should she continue working in the dog-eat-dog world where cd’s were disappearing and turning into clouds or should she take a chance on switching careers completely, turning her attention to youth? Per chance, she fell into volunteering for a Jewish youth organization, highlighting skills she never knew she possessed while giving her the confidence to take that leap.
What came next was investing in herself, spending 18 months earning a CPCC certificate in Co-Active Coaching from CTI and 100 hours of Youth Development Coaching. Her peers dubbed her “The Teen Whisperer” and suggested she use her playful moniker, “Cammy the Camel” as inspiration for naming her business.
Since then, Camryn has worked as a Camp Director at various camps, at Valley Beth Shalom as their Director of Youth Engagement and at Milken Community School as their Director of Service Learning, building authentic relationships with teenagers and supporting their growth through informal and experiential education. Additionally, Camryn created a teen camp, Camp ViBeS, combining community service, hiking and confidence building adventures, with over 150 teens enrolled every summer for four years.
Guiding teens through life’s ups and downs is not only Camryn’s specialty, but it’s her passion and life mission. She’s made an impact on thousands of teens over the last 15 years and continues to share her talent for years to come.
